Mill expansion & upgrade, Hungary
Modernization and Throughput Increase with SWISCA Technology

Initial Situation
Júlia Malom Kft. is one of the largest and most modern grain mills in Hungary. Since its commissioning in 2005, the company has consistently pursued a strategy of technological advancement. With a view to the upcoming generational transition, the mill is being prepared to operate more efficiently, sustainably, and competitively in the long term.
Mills and capacities:
– Mill 1: Soft wheat, 220 t/day
– Mill 2: Durum, 96 t/day
– Mill 3: Soft wheat, 240 t/day
Project Goals
The planned upgrades aim to increase capacity, flexibility, process and product safety, and product quality:
– Increase production of Mill 1 from 220 t to 300 t/day
– Convert Mill 2 into a combined mill for durum and soft wheat with a capacity of 120 t/day (soft wheat)
– Modernize and expand grain cleaning for Mill 1 and 2
– Upgrade rebolt sifting in Mill 3
SWISCA Solution
Phase 1 – Upgrade of the durum mill and grain cleaning
– Installation of four ROMIL roller mills
– Integration of a SIFTO plansifter compartment
– Installation of a DAMPE grain conditioner
– Upgrade of the cleaning section with SWISCA components (filters, screws, etc.)
– Silo equipped with eight FLOBA feeders
Phase 2 – Modernization of rebolt sifter, Mill 3 (completion 2025)
– Replacement of the existing control sifter with SIFTO
Phase 3 – Modernization of the wheat mill (completion 2026)
– Replacement of the existing roller mill floor with ROMIL
– Replacement of the existing plansifter with 7 SIFTO compartments
– Addition of a second DAMPE grain conditioner
– Installation of multiple CERVO weighing and dosing units and finished product scales
– Integration of a DENSI system for continuous moisture measurement
Results
– Over 40 % higher daily output at lower specific energy consumption
– Improved yield and quality through precise dosing and weighing technology
– Enhanced hygiene and yield via state-of-the-art process equipment
– Stable, reproducible processes due to higher automation levels
